1. Kronborg, Hamlet's Castle
The imposing castle is the landmark of Elsinore. Built in 1574-85 in Dutch Renaissance style. The baronial hall, chapel and casemates are worthy of special mention. The castle is also famous as the backdrop for Shakespeare's drama about the Danish Prince Hamlet.
Open daily from May to September, closed on Mondays from October to April.

2. Denmark's Technical Museum
The oldest technical museum in Scandinavia presents a collection of international class including steam engines, inventions, electric appliances, bicycles, veteran cars and 30 aircraft, included the first Danish airplane.

3. Danish Maritime Museum at Kronborg Castle
The museum has exhibitions on the Danish merchant fleet, the history of navigation to Greenland and the Danish West Indies.

The new Øresund Aquarium reveals marine life with a particular focus on the Sound.

5. The Church of St. Mary
Built as a part of the late medieval Carmelite Monastery, consecrated to the Virgin Mary. The church is decorated with recently restored murals from around 1480-90. In the church you will also find the remarkable baroque organ, on which Dietrich Buxtehude played from 1660 to 1668.

7. The Karen Blixen Museum Birthplace and residence of the Danish writer Karen Blixen/Isak Dinesen (1885-1962), exhibition rooms with collections of books and paintings, bookshop, film room and café.
