My best summer ever
The Avid Cruiser on an enchanting Baltic Sea journey
While winter is coming along so is the longing for long daylight and memorable summer experiences. In the new issue of The Avid Cruiser, editor Ralph Grizzle suggests a cruise in the Baltic Sea Region as an excellent choice.
In the last issue of The Avid Cruiser, widely traveled editor Ralph Grizzle entitled his editorial “My Geatest Summer Ever” and wrote:
- ..my best summer ever was the one that just passed. In July, I cruised with my wife and kids, ages 8 and 10, on the Baltic Sea. We experienced wonderful ports and long summer days, with the sky never getting completely dark. Watching the sun set (at midnight!) … it seemed that summer would never end.
In the winter issue of The Avid Cruiser Ralph Grizzle continues his praise of the Baltic Sea Region’s plentitude of cruise choices, and in an extended article elaborates on his own and his family’s experiences:
- What a mysterious and enchanting region of the world…we would stroll wide pedestrian streets free of cars, sip coffee at charming outdoor cafes, suck up nearly 20 hours of sunshine each day, marvel at world class museums, stand among opulent palaces and walk along well-preserved medieval town walls. For two weeks.. we would live a fairy tale in these enchanting lands.
Ralph Grizzle and family gained their experiences on a cruise in the Baltic Region visiting Copenhagen, Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, Stockholm, Visby, Rostock, Århus, Elsinore, Helsingborg, Klaipeda, Riga, Gdynia and Oslo.
