Elsinore

View trough the Danish Royal Yatch to Kronborg Castle in Elsinore
Boat Race on Oresund, the entrance to the Baltic Sea Region

The twin towns of Elsinore in Denmark and Helsingborg in Sweden, facing each other across the straits of the Sound at the narrowest point, mark the gateway to the Baltic Sea.

Elsinore is a busy tourist and commercial center linked by a thriving fleet of ferries to Helsingborg, four kilometers across the waters of the Sound.

Passengers who come ashore in Elsinore are delighted with a visit to Kronborg Castle, made famous by Shakespeare as Elsinore Castle - home to Hamlet. The church of St. Mary, the shops, restaurants and museums are all within sight of the quay. A tour into the surrounding countryside will give the guest the opportunity to visit royal castles, the Louisiana modern art museum and the Karen Blixen museum. A 20-minute ferry ride takes visitors to Helsingborg, where Kärnan castle guards over the city.
