Top honour to Baltic cruise project
Cruise Baltic Project (CBP) has won Denmark's biggest marketing award. It has just been announced that CBP has been given the HBH Marketing award 2007 for its combined branding, marketing and development of the Baltic region as a single cruise destination.
Three years ago Wonderful Copenhagen and Cruise Copenhagen Network took the initiative to start the Cruise Baltic Project, which today includes 19 destinations and 35 partners around the Baltic Sea. The goal was to create continuing growth for the Baltic region.
- The prerequisite for growth is to think globally. It is not enough for a harbour to offer a good product if the other harbours that make up the rest of the cruise product don't do likewise. It is the combined experience that counts. Based on the principle of helping destinations to help themselves, the countries around the Baltic joined in partnership to develop all the destinations around the Baltic, says the chairman of Cruise Baltic Project and Sales- and Marketing Director of Wonderful Copenhagen, Ole Andersen. He continues:
- The project is unique because 19 destinations and 35 partners from ten countries, each with different cultural starting points, are competitors but also partners. And the fact that the project is creating value for both the individual members and all members together makes participation attractive.
The HBH Marketing Prize is Denmark's largest marketing award and is given annually to one person, organisation or public employee "which in its marketing of a product or an idea has made itself especially noticed via a well thought-out analysis and creative strategy, and where an original combination of thoughts, words and pictures has created a unique dialogue between the sender and receiver. It is a further condition that the winner has shown a high ethical standard, both in its business dealings and marketing."
