Cruise Baltic Project leads the way with a new cruise planning tool for professionals
Thanks to the creation of a new strategic tool, cruise companies, tour operators and agents can now quickly and easily find the information they need to arrange a visit to the participating harbours of the Cruise Baltic Project.
One of the goals of the Cruise Baltic Project (CBP) is to ensure unified standards for the harbours around the Baltic so that passengers, crew and cruise companies experience the same quality no matter which Cruise Baltic destination they find themselves at. With the Cruise Baltic Handbook, cruise companies, tour operators and agents can now see which individual standards and facilities they can expect to encounter during a stop in a harbour on the Baltic.
The handbook is intended to give easier access to, and a good overview of, the information from the Baltic harbours - the facilities they offer and their shared service standards. Using the CBP partners' experience as its starting point, the book offers information on how the harbours have chosen to tackle questions concerning the environment, and challenges such as how to avoid congestion.
- The handbook has to be easy to use for all professionals working within the cruise industry. Using these shared standards we can ensure that we offer a uniform product. As far as I know this is the first time that the cruise industry has tried to create shared standards for an entire region. At the same time the harbours around the Baltic share their experiences and in that way help the other harbours to improve. Hopefully it is the kind of experience that other harbours, cruise companies and tour operators will find useful, says Ole Andersen, responsible for Cruise Baltic Project and sales and marketing director of Wonderful Copenhagen.
The handbook is free and can be downloaded via www.cruisebaltic.com (under Professionals). It is also available from Cruise Baltic Project; contact Mette Holdt tel.: +45 3355 7413 or mho@woco.dk. The handbook will be available from mid-March.
