Supermarkets are also open on Sundays in summer and during the 6 weeks up to Christmas.

Climate The weather in south-eastern Finland is influenced by maritime and continental climate patterns. Summer in Kotka begins in May and lasts until mid-September. In summer the temperature can rise to 25-30ºC. The winter season begins in November/December, with the coldest time of the year usually around early February.
Tipping/Tax Tipping is not expected. Sales taxes (VAT) is always included in prices.

Transportation to/from the airport Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport is located 130 km from Kotka. There are several daily buses between Kotka and Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Travel time is approximately 2 hours.
