Successful Cruise Baltic Partner Meeting in Turku

During the August partner meeting held at the Scandic Plaza in Turku, considerable time was spent by the participants on the importance of Service Standards.

The main objective of the Service Standards Working Group formed is to improve the gathering and distribution of both Port and City information, in turn helping dialogue with all visiting cruise lines and port agents.

Phase I would involve the production of a Port and City information document; and it was agreed the purpose of Phase 2, Service Standards, would be to:

- provide an overview of relevant benchmarks focusing on Cruise Baltic port facilities

- to communicate the number of improvements

- to communicate new and improved service standards

A highlight of the two-day Cruise Baltic meeting in Turku was a visit to the 5,400 passenger luxury cruise liner ‘Oasis of the Seas', at that time not yet completed.

The group visited the STX shipyard and then continued the meeting at their premises. Risk Manager of STX Petri Moisio gave a presentation about STX; and Mikko Ilus gave a presentation about the project "Oasis of the Seas". Royal Caribbean International's Associate Vice President & General Manager UK and Ireland Jo Rzymowska spoke about how the owners have marketed themselves and the Baltic region.
