Important Port Matters

Located at the top of Denmark - Port of Skagen is Denmark's northernmost cruise port. The port is situated on the south coast and close to the town centre. The distance from the cruise quays to the central part of the town and the pedestrian precinct is only 1600 yards. Port of Skagedn offers two cruise quays. One of 500 m giving an LOA of 400 m and a water depth of 12 m. and one of 190m giving an LOA of 220m and water depth of 9m. Port entrance of 200m Welcome facilities at both quays holding information and guidance, guest and crew lounge, restrooms, showroom, souvenir shop and free WIFI, Bike rental and taxis are available at both quays.

NEW & ADVENTUROUS

Horseback Riding
Discover the beautiful nature of the Skagen area on horseback. Ride on Icelandic horses with your tour leader through the countryside by Raabjerg Mile and Bunken Plantation. Anyone can participate, both adults and children, as the tour will be adjusted to suit the rider's level of experience.
Snorkeling
Your instructors will pick you up at the cruise pier and after a short walk you will reach the starting point. Join professional divers on an exciting snorkeling trip along the coast, as well as near the piers in Port of Skagen. Here, it is teeming with underwater life in the form of fish, shellfish, and sea mollusks, which we will experience quite closely. You will receive basic instruction in safe diving with snorkeling and learn about life below the surface.
Kayak Surf
Your instructors will pick you up at the cruise pier and after a short walk you will reach the starting point. Together with our experienced kayak instructors, you will receive a basic introduction on handling the kayak on land and in water before starting your guided tour along he east coast of Skagen. We adjust pace and distance according to the group level.
Westcoast Safari
After a transfer from the cruise pier to the parking area by the beach and a short walk across the dunes you will arrive at the starting point on the west coast of Skagen ready to begin your safari. We will be driving in 4WD’s along the coast. This tour is intended as an active adventure as we will stop several times to explore, see, touch, and sniff out the many excellent experiences in our beautiful surroundings including a visit to the largest migrating dune in Northern Europe – Raabjerg Mile. The tour guide will be happy to answer your questions and tell you about the unique nature you will experience on this tour.

EXPEDITION FRIENDLY SHORE EXCURSIONS

Port of Skagen - Tales of brave fishermen
During this three-hour guided tour along the port area your guests will hear tales of brave fishermen and their harsh living in a small fishing village, of shipwrecks and dangerous rescue operations in the olden days as well as today. Your cruise guests will experience the development from small fishing dinghies and pass by some of the modern trawlers. The tour will end in style at Pakhuset Restaurant, where your guests will discover one of Skagen's most iconic foods, pickled herring.
The tip of Denmark - A beach hike with a view
Tell your guests to get ready for a stunning hike to the very top of the European continent. This five-hour guided tour starts at the port area and continues to Vippefyret - Denmark's first bascule light with an open fire basket from 1627. At "Grenen", the long sandbank that connects the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, your cruise guests will be able to stand with one foot in each sea. On the way back, your guests will walk through Østerby with the characteristic yellow houses and red rooftops.
Scenic Skagen - Explore the landscape on bike
On this 15 km guided bike ride your guests will have the opportunity to explore the scenic and unique landscape around Skagen, that only locals know. They will bike through the western part of Skagen and to the protected landscape on the east coast. The bike ride will continue to the west coast and the idyllic Old Skagen dominated by the characteristic yellow Skagen houses. During the ride there will be a refreshing stop with a view of the rushing North Sea before the journey ends at the northern part of Skagen.
